Zephan Knichel, Great Highland Bagpipe

Zephan Knichel is a full-time, professional bagpiper who originally hails from Edmonton, AB. He works part-time as a pipe bag and reed maker with Lee and Sons Bagpipes in Surrey, BC and is a current member of the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band. Zephan also competes individually at the highest level internationally and has won prizes throughout North America and Scotland.  Zephan teaches private and solo lessons and is an instructor with the Robert Malcolm Memorial pipe bands.

His workshop will talk about the Great Highland Bagpipe - its origins, music and make-up. A fascinating and close-up look at the big pipes.
