Kvitka Ukranian

The Kvitka Ukrainian School of Dance has been performing throughout the lower mainland for more than 30-years.  With dancers ranging in age from three-years old to adult, the group has performed for audiences in BC, Alberta, Seattle, California and Ukraine. They are constantly striving to provide an environment for all dancers to help build confidence, self-esteem, physical fitness and grace, all the while learning about their native Ukraine.

Kvitka’s gravity defying leaps and spins along with their visual splendour of elaborately embroidered and ribboned costumes have dazzled audiences throughout the Lower Mainland for years.  The group’s attention to details is evident in their traditional dances from the Hutsul, Bukovinia, Transcarpathia, Polissia, Volyn and Poltava regions of Ukraine, showcasing the beauty of native dances.

Kvitka is very involved in the community, hosting events such as traditional Easter Egg or ‘Pysanky’ workshops, polka parties, as well as performing at local events and festivals. They bring in professional instructors for workshops to further their dancers’ knowledge, skills, and appreciation of Ukrainian dance. In the past few years, Kvitka has travelled to Ukraine and Disneyland for workshops and performances and are looking forward to future trips.
