Gurdeep Pandher
Main Stage Host
Gurdeep was born into a farming family in a simple and ordinary village called Siahar in Punjab. Bhangra dancing was part of that life, and he embraced this joyful dance form, allowing him to learn from the heart and adopt dance as his lifestyle. After moving to Canada, Gurdeep has continued to pursue a diverse variety of creative projects since his early childhood days. He has lived in Squamish, Vancouver, Abbotsford, Saskatoon, North Battleford and now outside Whitehorse in the Yukon, becoming a Canadian citizen in 2011. His passion for dance has led him to teach Bhangra lessons at many locations in Canada, posting videos in many beautiful landscapes and highlighting the multiculturalism that is so present in Canada. To Gurdeep, the vast land, open-air, wide mountains, smiling sun and even the rain has taught him to be a free spirit, celebrating life with an open heart that he found through nature. His videos have been watched more than 50 million times on many media platforms and he has a large online following, including many in the Lower Mainland. Gurdeep will host the Main Stage at ScotFestBC World Music Festival spreading his joy and positivity to all in attendance. He may even lead a Bhangra dancing session for all.
