The British Columbia Highland Games is one of the largest traditional highland games in western Canada.

Originally sponsored by the Vancouver St. Andrew’s & Caledonian Society for more than 100 years, the event has evolved into a high-level competition and festival celebrating all things Scottish.

Friday night is the kick-off with “The Island Spirit Social” whisky program on the main stage, open piobaireachd in the cultural tent and live Celtic music until closing under the Big Tent.

Saturday is full competitions all day long, culminating in the Massed Pipe Bands on the Lew Ross Field at 5:00 pm and a performance from Juno award winner’s The Barra MacNeil’s from Nova Scotia on the Big Tent Stage afterwards.

Plus, a salute to the Royal Canadian Legion on it’s 100th birthday, a Māori welcome to any visiting Kiwi’s (in town for the Sunday world match at BC Place) and a Celtic Arts Foundation small pipe tent.

It’s a weekend not to be missed. Early bird tickets ($25) on sale until June 9. $30 at the door.
